The majority of the Mayan people were farmers. These people grew crops such as maize, or corn, and beans.
Religion
Most of these people's lives were centered around religion and worshipping the nature gods. They believed that the continuation of their society depended on keeping the gods happy.They built enormous pyramids in honor of their gods. These pyramids were built with a lot of steps, and the people would walk to the top and worship the gods. They also played games similar to soccer and basketball that were called pok-a-tok. Many times the losers of the games were killed to honor the gods.
War
The Mayans were very aggressive people. They fought numerous battles and ultimately their civilization ends due to being unprepared for an attack.
